Apple blossom

We had some nice warm spring weather the last two weeks with temperatures around 18 °C (65F). The nice weather gave some color to our garden with flowering tulips, daffodils and a magnolia. And since a few days the apple tree has joined in the flowering with beautiful blossoms. This macro image was created by holding my 60mm f2.8 lens the wrong way in front of the camera. I could now get a much closer shot of the blossom but the downside of this method is that you have to focus manually, i.e. move a little to the front and back until the image is sharp. You can imagine that more than one try was needed to create this image. But I like the close up and the shallow depth of  field that is possible with this method.
