Moving zoom

I like to try out new things and when I read an article about moving the zoom of the zoom lens while the shutter is open, I had to try it. This are two different results: in the first photo the zoom is moved all the time the shutter is open form minimum to maximum zoom. The result is a very abstract photo with only green lines from the foliage and pink from the oleander flowers. In the second photo the zoom was moved for only some of the time the shutter was open. The result is a photo with more defined plants with superimposed on it the lines caused by the moving of the zoom.

I find both results interesting and certainly worth more experimenting. What do you think?
